Relocating can be a stressful and time-consuming process, involving various challenges such as packing, transportation, unpacking, and what if any damage happens to my items. Porter Packers and Movers recognized these pain points and aimed to provide a comprehensive solution that simplifies the entire moving journey.

Objectives

Research

We sent a survey form to 500+ users who had chosen Porter Packers and Movers as their relocation partner in the last couple of months. We received 200 responses from the users talking about their good or bad experiences with Porter. I also interviewed 20-25 customers to understand their pain points after and before choosing Porter as their relocation partner.


Once we had enough input from the users, I and Product manager sat down to discuss and prioritize the problems that we were gonna pick first.

Pain points and strategies

Transparent Pricing: The pain points of the users were we have 60-70% of users who come to Porter Packers and Movers service to see the quote and for that, they have to go through a long process to see the quote, which was very frustrating in itself. So we implemented transparent pricing, now users can see the quote by just giving their pickup and drop location. Porter implemented a transparent pricing model, allowing customers to obtain accurate quotes based on their requirements. This approach eliminated hidden costs and surprises, fostering trust and credibility.

Personalized Services: The pain points of the users were they were not able to find what they needed for their relocation needs. To cater to the diverse needs of customers, Porter offered customizable packages. The user could choose from a range of add-ons, including packing, loading, transportation, and unpacking, tailoring the experience to their preferences.

Professional Packing and Handling: Some of the users complained about the items handling and damage so we invested in training their staff to handle items with care, ensuring safe packing and transportation. Fragile and valuable items received special attention, reducing the risk of damage during transit.

Real-time Tracking: The major pain point for the users was they were not able to track the location of their items. Now the mobile app allows customers to track the location and status of their belongings during transit. This feature provided reassurance and a sense of control over their move.

Communication Channels: We maintained open communication channels with customers through various channels, including phone, email, and chat support. This allowed customers to address queries and concerns promptly.

Outcome

Enhanced Customer Satisfaction: Our customer-centric approach and transparent services significantly enhanced customer satisfaction. Customers appreciated the convenience, personalization, and transparency offered. The customer's satisfaction can be seen in the positive feedback they provide.
